The epitome of luxury

Have you ever seen that bag? Chances are that this is your first time. The above bag in a Maison Goyard bag. They are becoming more and more popular because of what Maison Goyard means. Say, when you think of someone rich, you think they have Louis Vuitton luggage. If you know you are rich, and you don't give a damn if people realize it or not, you have Maison Goyard luggage. Maison Goyard is the epitome of luxury, and unfortunately, people are catching on. Every day, there are more and more people purchasing knock offs of these bags. The only positive thing from that is the fact that the overused Louis Vuitton knock off just might be put to rest!

The low-down on Maison Goyard: Maison Goyard was founded in 1853, and is known for the clientelle and their monograms. Their clientelle includes the Grand Duke of Russia, Madonna, the Maharaja de Kapurthala, and Karl Lagerfeld. Have fun trying to find a store that sells Goyards because there are less than 15 in the world.

happppy new year

New Year.

New Trends.

New Life.

Hopefully, anyway. Last night marked the start of the new year, which I was very happy to embrace. 2007 was a very difficult year. It was full of challenges in school, relationships, everything. I am very happy to say it is over, and to start over with a clean slate.

'08 marks the start of more to come in regards to fashion. What will be in? What will be out? Only a few will be able to say. So in the hopes of educating myself, I bought the January Vogue. According to Vogue, femininity is back in full swing. Gone are the days of oxfords and tailored menswear. Welcome full skirts, anything flowy, pops of coral, yellow, and purple, and patterns galore.

So me, I am very excited for spring. When you are walking along the streets and you stop and stare and the gorgeous girl wearing bright flats, a sun dress, and a graphic cardi, you can come back here and comment on this post and say 'Hey! I saw you walking down the street today!'. I plan to be wearing many more dresses, matte lipstick, bright nails, and vintage rings that I found in my mother's drawer.

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

But the fire is oh so delightful.
Its snowing outside, and I really don't want to leave the house. However, in an hour I have to go and stay with my neighbors kids, then go to a choir concert, then to rehearsel. Pity me.
This morning, I put a few ads up on my walls (I switched rooms with my brother, so my walls currently have cowboys all over them)
I put up:

Kate Moss/David Yurman Ad

Dolce and Gabbana ad
Kate Spade ad

And a Prada ad with my it model, Sasha
What do you have up on your walls?

I'm a bad bad girl

I am in the middle of journalism, and I finished laying out my page, so I am just relaxing and reading the style section of the New York Times.

I just wanted to let you know that when I get home, I will be writing a fab post about Maison Goyard. Get ready.

Fabulous, oui?

The obsessions

1. Sasha Pivovarova

Although Iekeliene Stange will always have a place in my heart, I have found a new girl for me to obsess over. Sasha's look is one-of-a-kind, and she has obviously been noticed, for she was photographed with the it phone of the year, and for prada no less. So she is my new obsession, therefore she made my pbsessions list.

2. Benetint
I will not leave my house without this stuff. I don't want to look fake with bright lips (unless I feel like it :P) and I don't want to look like Massie and Claire ala Glossip Girl, so I carry my pocketpal with me. I always look naturally rosy.
3. Bows
I have a slight obsessions for bows. Actually, I have an obsession with headbands in general. But right now, I only want to wear bows. I actually have been borrowing some from my 5 year old neighbor. You are jealous.
4. Tazo Tea
Yes, Starbucks is amazing because of its 75,000 different combinations of drinks, but my favorite right now is tea. There are 12 or so different flavors, and each is amazing. Plus, my neighbor works there, so I get many a tea for free.
5. Gossip Girl
I have read 5 of the books, and I didn't understand how they would be able to make it into a hit show, but I guess Josh Schwartz is just amazing (he was behind the OC, so I think he definitely has the talent to make the impossible possible.
6. Kelly Cadeche
I cannot afford a Birkin, but I can afford Kelly Cadeche, which is my new signature fragrance. It is a unique smell: the only way to describe it is leather and flowers. Although it may sound like a turnoff, you MUST smell it. Who wouldn't want to smell like a Birkin? tee hee.
Okay, I must start my homework now. Adios.

You Know You Love Me

Gossip Girl

Lately, all I have seen and heard is people looking for how to look like the girls from gossip girl. My personal favorite 'it girl' has got to be Blair. How she dresses is how I love to look: Together, with vibrant pops (like her headbands). And I know I am not the only one who loves her look.

THIS JUST IN ON GOSSIP GIRL: Blair's mothers line is spectacular. OLD NEWS. But do you know where her designs are really from? Many are from Lorick New York, and I just found out. So you really want Blair's look? Well, here it is.

Blair's dress ala Lorick.... adorable, non? Now, don't get all excited, but you can only get this baby in stores... Have fun finding a store with it in stock. HOWEVER, there is a skirt for of this dress on sale online at Gargyle for $400. It is currently out of stock, but you can contact them so you can find out when it is in stock.

Blair to 'old fashioned' for you? Then Serena is right up your alley. She is gorgeous, and she knows how to dress. I believe the dress at the left (also Lorick) is the same dress Serena is wearing. If not, it looks exactly alike.
You know you love me

It's Britney Biotch

My review of Britney Spears' album Blackout.
With events such as shaving her hair off, losing custody of her children, and getting married and annulled in 48 hours, Britney Spears’ personal life causes us to forget that she made and broke musical records with her singles and albums.
Her latest release, “Blackout,” is no different. Spears provides her fans and her curious onlookers with fast beats and tantalizing messages that no one can get out of their heads.
“Gimme More”, the single from her latest album, sets the scene for tracks to come. Produced by Danja, Gimme More is a compilation of clubbing beats and a highly synthesized voice.
Spears’ voice sounds processed by a computer, however, that works for the song. ‘I just can’t control myself/ They want more? / Well I’ll give them more’. Gimme More is a song with an ulterior motive. It is Spears’ way of saying that she knows that she is getting bad publicity, but, hey, if the fans want it, she will deliver. Overall, it was a very good single because it is something that no one can get out of his or her heads.
The second single on “Blackout”, “Piece of Me”, is Spears’ ode to the paparazzi with more up-tempo beats and over processed vocal track. ‘I'm Mrs. 'Most likely to get on TV for stripping on the streets/ When getting the groceries/ No, for real/ Are you kidding me?’
Spears is smarter than she lets on since she does agree that all of this publicity is pointless. However, she taunts the paparazzi continuously during this song by constantly repeating ‘Do you want a piece of me?’ Overall, this song was one of the best songs on the album, and arguably the most fun to listen to Spears’ mocking of the paparazzi.
“Radar’s” heavy beats are not the only things that make this song get under your skin. Britney’s voice in this track stands out more than any other: It is pure and simple, and there is a perfect balance between hip-swaying beats and the sultry lyrics. It is a very easy song to listen to, and ridiculously fun to dance to.
“Heaven on Earth” has a ridiculous amount of potential at the beginning of the song: with the synthesizer pumping, and Britney’s faint whisper, “Heaven on Earth” could have been the ultimate dance song. However, less than a minute into the song, the mood changes, and Spears starts sounding like Paris Hilton on Hilton’s Track “Nothing in this World”.
There is no use in describing what Get Naked (I Got a Plan) is about, because it is all in the title. Now, this song title may make it sound like the next Toxic, but it doesn’t have lyrics that are worthy enough to be stuck in your head for weeks on end. The only positive from this track is the bass in the background of the dirty lyrics. It was the worst song on the album, which is very disappointing because the beginning of the album set the bar extremely high.
One of the better songs on “Blackout” is “Freakshow”, which starts off with Spears doing a slight rap. This song is guaranteed to get anyone pumped up to stand and dance to lyrics like ‘Don't stop it let it flow/ Let your inhibitions go/ It's a crazy night/ Let's make a freakshow’. It was well composed and is sure to be a hit in clubs all around the world.
“Toy Soldier” is guaranteed to be the next hit single. Spears’ taunting voice tells her fans that ‘This time I need a soldier/ I'm sick of toy soldiers/ A boy that knows how to take care of me/ Won't be just coming over...’ This connects to the fans because they all know about Spears and Kevin Federline’s relationship, marriages, and divorce. This hit is sure to be the epitome of a break up song. Did Spears write this song based on experience with Federline?
“Hot as Ice” is slightly controversial for all critics for the fact it has been said how Spears is trashy and needs to lose weight. In this song, Spears says that she still has sex appeal. ‘I'm just a girl with the ability to drive a man crazy/ Make him call me mama/ Make him my new baby’.
The last track on “Blackout”, “Why Should I Be Sad” is the only song like a ballad. The music sounds a lot like something Justin Timberlake’s What Goes Around Comes Around and the entire vibe of Promise by Ciara. The lyrics are dripping with regret and remorse about both her marriage with Federline, and her marriage to her childhood friend. ‘My friends said you would play me/ But I just said they're crazy/ While I was crying, praying/ Was it true?’
Although most wouldn’t sympathize with Spears, this track seems to be something to make the fans feel for her.
Blackout opened on the Billboard 200 as number two, so it is obvious many people were curious about what the final outcome would be.
Blackout is a great album when it comes to clubbing/rave beats and the collaborations on the tracks. However, if robotic sounding lead singers and trashy lyrics cause someone a headache, then this album should be a pass.

Impulse

Hey all. I just finished reading Impulse by Ellen Hopkins.... I would give it 5 stars. To anyone who has read Crank by her, you know exactly why. Impulse is about 3 teens who go to rehab for attempted suicide: one girl who cuts herself and feels to blame for her mother's death, one boy who's dad left his mother and his mother is a whore and never tried to guide him along, and one boy who seems to have everything in life: girls, strength, money, grades, looks... but he ends up being the most screwed up out of all of them.
It is a HUGE book (over 500 pages) but I finished it in 2 days because Hopkins writes in stanzas. Although the kinds of 'poems' (for lack of a better term) are not as creative as Crank, it still was a stunning read.
If you don't read this, I will be incredibly dissappointed in you.

The Word of the Moment

Eloquence: noun: the practice or art of using language with fluency and aptness. Synonyms: articulation, expressiveness, poise.

Someone just said eloquence and grace to me and I felt like it rolled off the tongue.

I want Etsy's babies.

Etsy is fantabulous for anything your heart may desire.

Do I need to say anything more?
Check out the artist behind these amazing pieces: leanimal
enjoy.
B.

Genie, I wish that I looked like them.

Mary Kate and Ashley for Nylon. I have yet to pick up the new issue, and I have just a slight obsession blossoming about the two of them, so i know I must.

It doesn't have the same rign as 'Oprah's favorite things' but still....

Since the holidays are approaching, I must copy Oprah and have a segment about my favorite things from good ol' 2007. Get ready to see class, versatility, and just all around delicious in the blog post of the season.

THE MOST VERSATILE THING EVER
Is the american apparel bandeau dress.
It comes in five million gazillion colors, and it is the most basic dress you have ever seen: a halter dress. BUT, ladies and gents, you can wear it not one, not two, not five, but FIFTEEN different ways. Many a person has seen me walking around town with this dress on as a high waisted skirt, artfully twisted like the picture, and thirteen other ways. The best part? It is only $36. I swear it is a staple in my wardrobe.

Although many would contradict me putting this on my list, I LOVE MINE. I think that every woman needs a Burberry scarf in their wardrobe, they are timeless!! And best of all, I got mine for $69 plus a pair of matching gloves at the outlets. So I wear mine constantly with a gorgeous blue jacket, and I think you should all just go and buy one right now.

Ahhh you know you want it.... But I am going to be obnoxious and tell you that it is mine... na na na na boo boo. I bought it on adorevintage.com, but i hasn't come yet. But anyways, I think that every single girl needs a little lace and tulle to bring out the 3 year old ballerina in you. It also looks extremely European. But nevertheless, it must go on my favorite things list because it is drool worthy.

The only thing I will let my nails go outside in is Siberian Nights from OPI's Russian Navy Collection. It looks almost black on, but it looks a deeeeeep purple under lights and it truly is one of the most stunning colors I have ever seen in my entire life. Every single person MUST go out right now and purchase Siberian Nights, unless you already have it, then you are off the hook :]

I cannot stop raving about this book. If anyone has read Kite Runner, I must assure you that this is 5 million times better. It is about two women forced into a marriage in Afganistan, and it is full of hate, love, and the inferiority of women. I cried multiple times, and this book will always have a special place in my heart.

Everymorning I wake up to the aroma of Awake. When I come home I inhale the scent of Wild Sweet Orange, and when I am procrastinating on a major project, I smell Calm. If you haven't figured it out already, I am taking about Starbucks' Tazo Teas. Each with their distinct aroma, every single one is like a tea bag from heaven.

OH MY GOD OMIGOD YOU GUYS. Legally Blonde is the most amazing thing EVER. And I just think I am getting tickets for Christmas adhsaihdasjxssd. The music is highly addicting to listen to, and the jokes are funny the twentieth time around. I honestly am 'So Much Better' after listening to Legally Blonde (anyone get it? I am just toooooo witty)

So. That is my must haves for the season, but haves always come right before the wants....
MY CHRISTMAS LIST!
~ A Botkier
~ Hermes Kelly Cadeche
~ Books
~ Knit Uggs (No one at my school wears them and I am sick of the classic tall ones)
~ Legally Blonde Tickets
~ Teen Facial at Bliss Spa
What are you asking for? dahds I can't wait for Santa to come down my chimney.
Until tommorow, B.

I enjoy fieldtrips

This time our little field trip is to London. Seatbelts on? Everyone peed before they came in the car? Okay, ready? Set? And we are off.

She kind of reminds me of Cory Kennedy. Does anyone else see the resemblance?

I feel like she looks amazingly glamorous with that bag. I want it. now.

My dirty little secret: This dress makes me drool.

I love the little caps like that one. I want one with an intense passion, although I have no idea where I would wear it.

Not to be sterotypical, but a lot of Asian girls always look stunning, and she is no exception.

ahhhh I am in love.
Up next: B's favorite things! I am going to show you the most amazing things that I swear buy.
Until then, B.

S is for Sister Acts

Four of the most beautiful and fashion forward women are actually parts of duos...
Sienna and Savannah Miller. Sisters with amazing style and stunning looks.
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Sisters with a style like no other.
What to these sisters pairs all have in common? High fashion collections. So lets take a look, shall we?

After reading the magazine from the heavens, Nylon, and reading the stunning artivle on Savannah and Sienna Miller, I fell in love. They are both stunningly gorgeous and they have amazing style. So here is my little ode to their amazingness.

Can everyone please agree with how amazingly stunning they are? Sienna seems much more 'out there' and brighter (In the left picture with her retro mini dress and in the right her sequined mini dress) and Savannah seems much shyer and muted (the gray dress, although simple, is stunning on her)

Not only do they know they look good, but they know others want to look like them, hence their new collection titled 'Twenty8Twelve'

This dress is the dress on Savannah in one of the above pictures. I love it because it is so simple, but the little accents such as the lacing on the back and the simple bow. I think this dress is absolutely fantastic.

I am a lover of high collars, so of course I am in love with this dress. It is, like the above dress, so simple, but I feel like the pleats really make it a truly stunning dress. The color, too, is a very classic color.
The Olsens. You either love them or you hate them. I happen to think that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are truly inspirational, and I love how they don't really care what others care about what they wear.

Gorgeous, aren't they?

I am seriously in love with these dresses... I would kill to wear something like either of them.

The Olsens not only have one, but three collections. One is sold at Walmart for tweens, and I think we all were obsessed with it for some point in our tweens. They also have a stunning new couture collection called 'The Row'. However, their names will not appear on the clothing or about the clothing, because who would honestly spend 3000 on a jacket designed by 20 year olds?

All of it is so stunning, non? Now, unless you have a lot of pocket money, don't be expecting to buy any plain tees from The Row for the price of Hanes tees....

I want... scratch that, I need

I need Kenneth Jay Lanes babies. For cereal.

Aren't these little babies fabulous? Lately, I have had a slight obsession with prints: giraffe, zebra, you name it. And these bracelets ease my hunger.
Today my goals are:
  • Paint my nails a ridiculous color
  • Purchase the Tiffany's key ring for a friend's sixteenth
  • Figure out how to curl my hair without it looking retarded
  • Find another sick nastylicious place to preview in my blog.

I Should Be A Private Investigator

After watching Project Runway and fell in love with Rami's amazingly draped dress, so I did a little background run on my favorite-to-win: Rami Kashou.

He has a line!! It is self titled (Rami Kashou) and it is fabulous, if I do say so myself.

I am in love with the color and the draping that we all are getting to know and love.
I love the neckline and the color in this one... and of course the draping.
ahhhmazing. Need I say more?
That little bolero is so amazing.
If you want to check out the rest of his spring/summer 2008 collection and his other fab ones, check out www.ramikashou.com
I am nervous that he will be an Uli from last season: Every week he does something that looks really similar, but we still love him. Hopefully he is diverse and amazingly amazing.

Do I spot a new fad?

As I was doing my weekly browse of all of the websites that carry things I can only dream of owning, I noticed a similarity between a lot of the clutches... they are all very...solid. No more slouchy bags or hobos, no we are all seeing little boxy clutches. Will this become a huge fad? Only time will tell.
B.

Let's Take a Little Field Trip...

To Moscow.
Fabulous oui?

The boots are amazing and I want her leather jacket SOOOOO bad.

The patterns, the green, the boots, everything is amazing. She looks so pulled together it is ridiculous.

Not very detailed, but I love how the tights pop and really draw the eye to her.

the retroness is amazing. I love love love her boots.
